ERASMUS Policy Statement

wswfit.com.pl has been awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education for the Erasmus+ programme 2014-2021 in 2019. The Erasmus Policy Statement sets out our institutional strategy in relation to the Charter.

WSWFiT is a non-public higher education institution with a 20 - years tradition of physical education teacher training. Following the example of the outstanding European universities WSWFiT aims at developing into a modern, competitive and mobility-oriented institution. International collaborative partnerships are a core element in our broader strategic objectives in regard to teaching, learning and research. Strategy for internationalization encompasses relations both within and outside of the EU.

wswfit.com.plants to increase its competitiveness supporting students and teaching staff mobility in line with the principles set out in Bologna Strategy. WSWFiT plan to focus on development of collaborations with Institutions of higher education located in the Programme countries and shows considerable interest in establishing new agreements with institutions of higher education from EU. Interest in developing cooperation within Europe results from the similarities between institutions of higher education in Europe: compatible education systems, application of ECTS, English-taught study programmes, etc. Our study programme is based on the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System which helps recognition of a student’s studies and transfer of their achievements.

wswfit.com.pl supports the EU Modernisation and Internationalisation Agenda for Higher Education, and the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education is integral to the realisation of our institutional plans, strategies and aspirations. Our approach to international engagement based on the core values expressed in our institutional strategy. Central to the achievement of our vision of an international Higher School are the benefits derived from working collaboratively. Our international partnerships facilitate and support staff and student mobility, student recruitment, developments in teaching and learning, collaborative research and sport activity. The most important objectives and target groups of WSWFiT mobility activities are: a) to increase quantity and quality of student credit mobility at Bachelor levels to and from the participating countries and to and from non-participating countries. In regard to mobility we are committed to extend the range and nature of the opportunities we can offer to our students, as integral or optional credit mobility components of an ever-increasing range of degree programmes, b) to promote, support and recognise student and staff mobility, c) to expand ECTS course catalogue, to provide transparent application of ECTS, to increase flexibility and transparency of recognition procedures, d) to increase WSWFiT staff (academic and non- academic staff) mobility to other relevant institutions in the participating and non-participating countries, to teach and to be trained; e) to develop cooperation with partners in participating and non-participating countries in the framework of coherent and clear strategy for internationalization. We will develop short-term mobility in order to encourage participation by a more diverse student body and to introduce new and less familiar study destinations in non-participating countries. Mobility of academic and administrative staff is a priority for effective partnership relationship management, support of co-operation projects, professional training, teaching delivery and programme development. International collaborative partnerships are a core element in our broader strategic objectives in regard to teaching, learning and research. All successful partnerships are the result of shared commitment to, and mutual benefit from, the relationship. The most important objectives of WSWFiT mobility activities and areas for the forthcoming years is to increase competitiveness home and abroad through supporting students and teaching staff mobility, applying the guidelines set out in Lisbon and Bologna Strategies. In order to create more competitive and attractive degree programmes WSWFiT implements key priorities related to Bologna Process namely: mobility, employability and quality. Mobility helps student to develop important skills: foreign languages, adaptability and intercultural awareness. Participation in Erasmus + courses in a foreign language give students significant linguistic and intercultural competences important in the modern world and their future job.

We assume that the impact of the European Union’s Modernisation and Internationalisation Agenda in Higher Education will be seen in each of the five priority areas:

1. Increasing attainment levels to provide the graduates and researchers Europe needs

2. Improving the quality and relevance of higher education
3. Strengthening quality through mobility and cross-border collaboration

4. Making the knowledge triangle work

5. Improving governance and funding

WSWFiT stresses the significance of individual mobility that constitutes a perfect tool for increasing professional, social and intercultural skills and employability. WSWFiT aims at increasing number of students completing a study period abroad. Therefore, efforts are made to build learning mobility into curricula and ensure the efficient recognition of credits gained abroad by means of consistent use of ECTS and the Diploma Supplement. WSWFiT pursues to attract students, academics and researchers from outside the EU. In order to recruit students from non-participating countries the following issues must be addressed in the nearest future: continuous improvement of quality studies, expanding ECTS course catalogue, improving flexibility of recognition and transparency of recruitment procedures. Across our programme we will make innovative use of new information and communications technologies to enrich teaching and enhance the student experience.

Our priority will be improvement of WSWFiT management and investment in the academic mission and strategic vision.
New challenges related to participation in the Erasmus+ programme 2021-2027 are implementation of the new fundamental principles: to respect the principles of non-discrimination, transparency and inclusion of students and staff, to implement the European Student Card Initiative, and promote the use of the programme’s Erasmus+ mobile App to students., to implement and promote environmentally friendly practices and to promote civic engagement and active citizenship amongst outgoing and incoming students. According to Erasmus Without Paper (EWP 2.0.) and obligation to digitization in the next Erasmus programme we start to adapt to these changes and adjust processes and tools in preparation for the digital management of the Erasmus+ mobility programme.
